What Is Lena’s Love In Action (LLIA)?

LLIA Lifestyle is a brand born out of a need to FUND THE MISSION of the 501c3 non-profit, Lena’s Love In Action (LLIA). Lena’s Love In Action was developed to assist the underserved kids of metropolitan Detroit in connecting with the resources needed to encourage success. Named after my grandmother, Lena Mae Johnson, this nonprofit and its efforts are a celebration of the LOVE she gave to our family and our neighborhood on Detroit’s NorthEnd. 

To achieve our goal, Lena’s Love In Action has focused our efforts on our future, the children, with a back-to-school program calledBackpack Day.  During Backpack Day we supply students in Detroit (K-12) with school essentials which include a backpack filled with school supplies, books, coats, shoes, boots, hygiene products and a “parent pack” of literature regarding city services for which they may qualify. In 2020, we hosted our 3rd Annual Backpack Day and distributed 525 backpacks!  Our goal for2021 is 1,000 backpacks!

In the past, distributions have been limited by the donations that have been received.  In an effort to overcome this hurdle and serve more in need, I created a revenue stream for the nonprofit called LLIA Lifestyle. With this revenue stream, comes the freedom to plan, grow and ultimately help more people. 

Our future efforts will include a continue focus on the kids while widening our reach to include both the parents and neighborhoods through various initiatives that will be funded with donations, grants and proceeds from LLIA Lifestyle.
